2014 has been a really interesting year, and looking back I feel as excited as any advertising aficionado that sees the imminence of the transformation that is about to happen. This makes me think that 2015 can only get better.
As change is hitting different sides of the programmatic advertising ecosystem, mobile, data, pre-roll video and in-stream audio are taking new turns.
Here are my key predictions for 2015:

Some days ago, Google released a new tool that enables you to check if your website is mobile-friendly. Websites that pass Google's test will be labeled with "mobile-friendly" on Google's search result pages for mobile devices.
Some websites did not pass that test although they are mobile-friendly. Why did this happen and what can you do to make sure that your own site passes the test?

Online Media Generation’s OMG Social Media Conference took place on November 20th downtown Vancouver, and with a packed 8-hour schedule it looked to be a promising event – and certainly didn’t disappoint.
The recurrent theme throughout the day was WHY do you do what you do. Not WHAT, and not HOW (because, nobody really gives a s*&!), but WHY. What is the purpose of your business?
One of the opening questions was, what is the ROI of social media? The answer, what is the ROI of your socks!!? It’s something you just have to do. It’s expected. Perhaps a better question would have been, what is the potential loss of revenue by not being on social media? What revenue are you missing out on by not having a strong social media presence? A recent case study shows how $60k in incremental revenue was earned by a Fortune 500 company – $60k they might not have earned had they not had such a strong social presence.

Google released a new version of the Penguin algorithm about a month ago. Websites that were penalized by a previous Penguin update should have recovered with the new update if they removed spammy links in the meantime.
This did not happen for all websites. What's the reason for that and what can you do to make sure that your own website will recover?

Mr. Lieberman of 6WSEO.com shows the relationship between raising social profiles and improving search rankings on major search engines.
“Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn are important for more than just connecting with family members, friends and business associates living all over the world.”
These were Chad Lieberman’s opening remarks during his lesson on the importance of social networking to s business’s SEO strategy. “You may imagine that social networks have nothing to do with your business’ professional networks and have therefore done everything including implementing on-page SEO,” he asserted, “but any SEO agency would give a very different report if you were to consult.”

The Phenomenom of Google Algorithm Watching
In Google’s attempt to organize the World’s information, a new phenomenon has transpired in recent years, the algorithm watch. Search marketers (and others) have tried to gain an understanding into Google’s algorithm (of which there are many) to try and understand just how Google returns results for Apple the brand (not the fruit) when you perform a search for “apple” in Google. While some have tried to reverse engineer Google’s algorithms, a major update can leave Webmasters and site owners scratching their heads. Google has brought the whole issue of algorithm watching upon them. In fact, they used to announce (or leak) when there was a major algorithm update. I’ve been writing about Google algorithm updates for years such as here , here , here and here. The fact is one of my initial projects in this industry was to identify and research what the Florida Algorithm Update was all about. So my experience with Google algorithm updates is vast. Here is a reminder about some of Google’s most well- known algorithm updates:
