“301 redirect” is a technical term for being able to change a web page to another by redirecting the browser to a new web address. It’s a critical step in making sure that the search engines like Google index the right pages.
Petty said, “It’s critical for webmasters to understand how to use 301 redirects to get the search engines to read the right web addresses. There are so many ways to use them, and we’ll explain how to set it up correctly without getting penalized.”
Listeners who tune into the webinar will learn when to use 301 redirects and when it’s not appropriate. They’ll also discover that there are several ways to implement them, depending upon the circumstance and the type of web server.
Petty added, “There are incorrect ways of implementing redirects which can cause problems for the search engines and the webmaster.”
