Chicago, IL November 16, 2009 -- For seasoned search marketing and online marketing professionals, it is critical to attend bellwether conferences like SES Chicago in order to keep up rapidly changing search marketing landscape, according to a new poll conducted by Trade Show Week.

“This is a new SES Chicago for a new era” remarked VP and Global Content Director for Search Engine Strategies Mike Grehan. “This isn’t last year’s SES Chicago. Times are changing for the search industry. Advances in online advertising technologies and new platforms like video and mobile are quickly transforming SEM. We’ve listened to the feedback from attendees and panelists and we’ve come up with a show that we think everyone will be able to get excited about…I know I am!”

Even during an economic downturn, corporations continue attending conferences critical to their business future. Industry publication “Trade Show Week” recently conducted a survey which concluded that 96% of CEOs and senior marketing executives are attending their industry’s most important events this year. The survey indicates that in a challenging economy, it’s more important to keep up to date with industry trends, new products and solutions, and build new relationships because all three of these areas provide significant value and efficiency for companies and keeps companies competitive.

The aforementioned survey indicated several reasons cited by CEOs and senior executives for attending industry shows like SES Chicago. These included learning new technical information, the best use of digital media and social media for their companies, and strategies for thriving during a downturn.

As evidence of keeping up on change from year to year, SEO sessions at this year’s SES Chicago include breaking trends such as:

Search: Where To Next?, led by Simon Heseltine (AOL) will inform its attendees what to look out for in the next generation of digital marketing, and what should be on the search radar of marketers in the next five to ten years.

From Search to Discovery, led by Incisive Media’s Mike Grehan, will focus on social media-related trends and attendees can receive advice from long-time SEO experts on how best to use social media to their advantage.

Social Media Strategy and ROI Development, a sponsored session from Serengeti Communications, will go over how to create a successful social media strategy, what to measure and how to measure it, and expose secrets of high-ROI social media.
