Reciprocal links are not dead. Weren't dead before. Aren't dead now. I know it and you know it. But for just a second let's pretend otherwise.
A while back there was quite a bit of scare mongering going around the SEO industry about how reciprocal links were dead. I had a potential client once tell me that so-and-so-big-name-in-the-SEO-industry told them that reciprocal links were dead. I've said this before and I'll say it here again.

Ad campaigns can get nasty. We've all seen it happen. Sometimes marketers will chose a strategy that pulls the competition down rather than build their own offerings up. There has, of course, always been a few issues with libel and slander and other pesky legal matters like that, but they've never been enough to completely dissuade an unethical company from attempting them. And now we have the Internet opening all kinds of new ways to get even nastier.

This week (actually, right about the time you'll be reading this column) I'll be talking to the American Business Media Publisher's Summit in Chicago about online opportunities, from a user's perspective. As I was getting ready for the address, I realized there's a substantial piece of the B to B market that's missing online. I call it a market enabler.

Can, and will, the next generation of politicians exploit the communication mediums available to them? Will the new communication mediums have the power to influence public opinion? Will politicians be the victims of technology, or will they use it to their benefit? Will one party benefit from the use of the technology more than another? All reasonable questions, considering the role technology plays in today's society.

Providing a newsletter for your opt-in subscriber list provides many benefits in terms of driving traffic to your site as well as boosting the sales and profits of your company. This is a marketing ploy that will not hugely dent your budget and will also not require many man-hours in developing.
With a newsletter, you can inform the public about your company and products as well as services. You can keep them posted and updated about what's going-on with your company as well as many of your promotions and offerings. With these, you keep on reminding your subscribers that you are still here and are willing to offer them good deals and services.

While many realtors have real estate blogs, which is quite evident in the directory of real estate blogs, many are missing the opportunity to extend their audience even further by using RSS Feeds.
