Webmasters need to avoid making these common web design mistakes. HTML website templates can significantly ease the burden of designing and creating websites by providing webmasters with a ready-made web layout, structure, basic graphics, and color scheme. Templates can generally be edited and customized with any HTML editor. The biggest advantage for webmasters using ready-made templates is the amount of time that can be saved. There are a number of websites that provide ready-made HTML templates. We have compiled a list of some popular sites to make the search process easier.

Email marketing software has long been praised for its ability to help businesses keep in contact with customers, boost their brand, and drive traffic to their website, store or event. But many online retailers (or etailers) are rapidly discovering that eCoupons are the hidden gem of email marketing. With ferocious competition for the consumer's spending dollar, eCoupons let both small and large retailers harness the power of email marketing software to directly drive increased purchases and sales from their customer base.

I recently published a list of the top 100 marketing buzzwords for 2008. Noticeably absent from the list was "customer service". Maybe it's because customer service is not a buzzword, it's more of a necessity. The whole premise behind customer service is to enhance the level of customer satisfaction that your customer receives. For it is this very customer that allows you to market your product. If you have not been able to figure it out yet, the customer is in control. They are the reason you are in business. Whether it's B2C or in the B2B arena, your clients/customers are your lifeline.

I'm on the mailing lists of many Internet marketing "gurus" as I'm always interested in what they are up to. It's not unheard of for these one man bands to come up with products, set trends or develop strategies that over time are polished and then adopted by the very large Fortune 500 companies.

Probability is a consistent master. In many, many things, given a big enough population, you'll find a bell curve rising from the center, showing how closely we adhere to the norm. As much as we think we're unique and distinctive, when you start to look at why we do things, more often than not we find ourselves bound by what I call human hardware and operating system issues. These are products of how we've evolved as a species, our physical shells, the mechanisms of our brain (all hardware constraints) or how our society has conditioned us to act in a given circumstance (operating system constraints).

Latent semantic indexing, other wise known as LSI, is not what is it is frequently claimed to be. It is not something that a webpage can be optimized for, so that it conforms to LSI standards. There is no such thing as LSI standards. In fact, latent semantic indexing cannot be described to a layman in simple terms.

Okay, I admit it. I'm a sucker for the movie 'It's a Wonderful Life'. I'm happy to say that I've once again had my annual fix of George Bailey. So that, together with the fact that I can count the days left in 2007 on one hand, caused me get reflective. There's something about the turning of a calendar page that causes one to clean up our inventory of lessons learned from the past year, and start goal setting for the new. That's why the New Year brings the inevitable 'Best of' and 'Top 10' lists, the 2007 Time Lines and the predictions for 2008. As much as all these things are tempting, I'm going to resist. Instead, I'm going to say thank you for a few things that I've been blessed with in the past year, thanks to the Internet.
