If you are a hosting company you may want to stop here because I am going to rant a bit on hosting. This is not a hosting issue in general, but there are specific cases where I become frustrated with web hosting companies.
Take a case which happened today: We have a long term client who is consolidating 2 high traffic sites into one under a new domain. This is a pretty straightforward - the design company takes care of the integration of the content (since it is a new domain with a new look etc.) and the hosting company is supposed to make the necessary hosting changes to redirect spiders and users to the new site from the old sites.

This article will help you research and consider the elements that matter in a small business web host, if you decide to make the decision yourself and without professional assistance.

I have been waiting for Yahoo! 360 since I knew it would be coming out earlier this year. I am excited for this product because I think social networking of this style is the key to offering us more relevant search results.
By doing some non-obtrusive profiling of users and their online habits I think search engines like Yahoo! can learn what we are looking for when we are online.
The problem I had however was that this was invitation only. Sure I had my email address submitted to them, but I wasn't really expecting a formal invite from Yahoo! to join Yahoo! 360 just yet.
So what did I do? What any good researcher does - I went looking for sites offering free invites.

RSS, or Really Simple Syndication as it is commonly known, is a technology that gives webmasters the ability to easily distribute and publish syndicated content on the Internet. It seems like all Internet businesses now have RSS feeds available; at least your competitors do. You have finally made the decision that you have to have one. Where do you start?

If you do any searching on Yahoo! regularly as I do daily, you may have noticed that there has been a slight change to the search results.
Of course, if you are looking at the page you won't likely see it, unless you can read the HTML as it is executing, but if you were to look at the HTML you would see that there is a new link on the page - one that is for all intents and purposes invisible, but one that could change the search landscape quite substantially.
We've seen these "new" links on other engines, most notably the new and improved MSN, but not anywhere else. I'm talking about RSS feeds for search results.
